
Stefanie Brendl
Executive Director, President
Stefanie Brendl is our founder and Executive Director. She was a driving force behind the first shark fin trade ban in the Nation in Hawaii in 2010 and has since then dedicated her life to the conservation of sharks, working on many other fin bans and shark sanctuary campaigns.
Erika Wunch
Vice President
Erika is a native of Southern California, a wildlife enthusiast, and a conservationist. She currently resides in Los Angeles and devotes her time and energy to raising awareness and funds to help protect animals both underwater and on land.


Laurel Irvine
Development and Communications Director
Laurel jumped on board with Stefanie and the team after watching a short film at the Patagonia Film Festival and is now solely focused on Shark Allies. She spends her weekends diving the Channel Islands and volunteering at Marine Mammal Care Center in San Pedro, a hospital for sick and injured California Sea Lions and seals.
Kinga Phillipps
Board Member
She has explored the world as a journalist reporting on intense subjects like police corruption in Mexico, gangs in LA, women in the sex trade, humanitarian and environmental causes, and natural disasters. Kinga is a contributor to several travel blogs and volunteers her free time to humanitarian and environmental organizations.
